What a Garage Pegboard Actually Solves

A pegboard wall reduced lost tools in one household, but only after the hook layout was redone twice.

A pegboard sounds like an instant fix for garage clutter, but the first layout we installed failed within weeks because hooks were placed by guesswork rather than by what actually got used most.

After tracking which tools were reached for weekly versus rarely, we rearranged the board so frequently used items sat at eye level and rare ones moved to a bin on a shelf instead of the board itself.

The second layout cut the time spent searching for tools noticeably, mostly because it matched real habits instead of a tidy-looking arrangement planned in advance on paper.
